We continue to build a new century vision in Türkiye-Japan friendship with the motivation of “producing together”. Together with our esteemed friend, Master Architect and Civil Engineer Mr. Yoshinori Moriwaki, we had the great honour of visiting His Excellency Masami Tamura, Ambassador of Japan. During our meeting, we presented our book on the future of our bilateral relations and shared our concrete initiatives to bridge our European Union project experiences with Japan, fostering green and digital transformation through the participation of Japanese companies.
In this photograph, each of us holds a symbol of this enduring partnership. While His Excellency holds the Turkish crescent and star, and Mr. Moriwaki holds the book, which is a collective effort, Our president is holding an artwork that brings our core philosophy to life.
It depicts a glowing bridge, representing Türkiye as a connector of different cultures working for the common good. Across this bridge, a diverse group of young people—European, Turkish, and Japanese—walk hand-in-hand toward the future. Underneath them flows a serene ‘River of Trust.’
Deeply inspired by the profound Japanese philosophies of “Wa” (Harmony) and “Kyosei” (Co-existence), our goal is to establish a long-term solidarity network. This vision is guided by the timeless wisdom of the great Anatolian philosopher Rumi:
“You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop.
We are the drop. We are here to build a deeply rooted, trust-based relationship.
